CSI investigates: MUSIC

Do you find yourself frustrated by music? Where’s the top of the phrase? How do I assemble 32 count combination blocks to fit a piece of music? Let’s put it all under the microscope and investigate the mystery! Music and movement synchronization matter! This workshop will examine and explore the elements of composition that make up music and how to use them to your advantage in choreography design: comprehend the dynamics behind syncopation, measures and phrases and how they can seamlessly link choreography blocks together; train yourself to rhythmically “catch the beat”. At the end of this session, walk away with a simple system of “working papers” that allows you to organize movements sequences to music, artfully, progressively and with less hassle.
